Location: Fayetteville, NC

Compensation: $18 - $25/hour

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)

Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate approvals for neurological procedures and treatments. The ideal candidate will have experience handling insurance prior authorizations for a variety of neurological and psychiatric procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Process prior authorization requests for TMS, Botox, Spravato, Long-term EEGs, STAT MRIs, and other neurological procedures .
• Verify patient insurance coverage and determine prior authorization requirements.
• Submit, track, and follow up on prior authorization requests with insurance providers.
• Communicate with providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve authorization issues.
• Maintain accurate records of authorization requests, approvals, and denials.
• Appeal denied authorizations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all insurance and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to patient insurance and authorizations.

Qualifications:

• Experience in medical prior authorizations, preferably in neurology or psychiatry.
• Knowledge of insurance policies, authorization requirements, and medical billing processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and prior authorization portals.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple requests efficiently.
