Job Title: Patient Account Manager, Billing and Collections

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The Patient Account Manager is responsible for accurately and efficiently managing all office, outpatient, and hospital patient accounts. Primary responsibilities include:

Insurance and Billing Management

• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility accurately
• Conduct pre-billing reviews and coordinate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team
• Monitor medical insurance claims processing and task reassignments from the RCM team
• Resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with the RCM team

Patient Interaction and Collections

• Address and resolve patient inquiries related to billing
• Coordinate with collection agencies as needed

Financial and Administrative Tasks

• Maintain and process payments from all sources
• Prepare weekly bank deposits and post transactions in QuickBooks
• Generate and manage reports, including:
  • Accounts Receivable Aging
  • Billing Reports
  • Merchant Solutions Credit Card Reports

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, fee schedule updates, and revenue cycle management updates
• Maintain system updates and communicate changes to management and staff
• Reconcile financial activity daily, weekly, and monthly
• Submit financial data upon request within three business days

Professional Development

• Pursue ongoing professional development in insurance, coding, billing, and QuickBooks
• Share updates and insights with management and staff

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• CPC preferred
• 5+ years of experience in medical billing/office administration

Skills:

• Experienced in Quickbooks(preferred)
• Full Revenue Cycle Management

Reports To: Medical Director and/or Practice Consultant
Pay Scale: Starting at $25/hour
