Job Summary:

Teach CHICLA 368 "Chicana/o and Latina/o Literatures" online at the UW-Madison main campus from 6/16/2025-7/13/2025. For a full list of CLS Program courses, visit
Duties include preparing syllabi and modules in the Canvas online course management system, preparing course materials; presenting virtual lectures as appropriate, and facilitating online discussions and other interactive learning activities. Duties also include preparing and administering assignments, grading student work, and holding virtual office hours.

Responsibilities:

Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 45% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 45% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to teach courses in Chicana/o/x/e and Latina/o/x/e studies and work effectively with students of varied backgrounds.

Work Type:

Part Time: 90%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 1 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $50,000 SUMMER SESSION
Depending on Qualifications
